Late sixties London inspires Andrew Gn at Paris fashion week.

Looks from London's late-1960s designers Ossie Clark and Biba resurrected at Andrew Gn's spring/summer fashion show.

PARIS, FRANCE (OCTOBER 2, 2010) REUTERS - Ossie Clark, Biba and London in the late 1960s were revived on the Parisian catwalk on Sunday (October 2) at Andrew Gn for fashion week.

The story goes that one day the Singaporean-born designer was walking through London's Notting Hill and was in awe of a woman in vintage channelling the city's Swinging Sixties.

Back then designers like Ossie Clark became popular. He was known for his free-flowing dresses that let the body move freely and found favour with celebrities Mick Jagger, the Beatles, Marianne Faithfull and Liza Minelli. Biba was a famous store in west London known for their textile prints.

For spring, Gn recreated these looks with colours initially in black and white, then brown, violet, aqua and red rounding out the show.
The designer commissioned triple-silk woven crepe that let the body move without restrictions. He then expanded his collection to include maxi dresses, soft cardigan-like coats, and blouse-like jackets.

Other fabrics included eyelet theme in cotton voile, silk georgette and silk crepe in all sorts of colours. Some motifs were also are blown up into huge cut-outs resembling paper doilies.

Gn is a favourite of red carpet celebrities Jennifer Lopez, Eva Mendes, and Rachel McAdams.
