Stella McCartney gets the stars at the Paris Fashion Week

Stella McCartney provides a stellar collection and a star-studded audience at the Paris Fashion Week.

PARIS, FRANCE (OCTOBER 5, 2009)REUTERS - Stella McCartney proved once more that she is one of the big favourites on the catwalk, unveiling a Spring/Summer collection which drew in the A-list stars but is also one of the most wearable collections presented this season.
Fans of the British designer range from actresses Gwyneth Paltrow, Melanie Laurent or Charlotte Rampling to the animal activist and lead singer of "The Pretenders", Chrissie Hynde, who were all there in force on Monday (October 4).

Hynde said she liked the masculine cut and the straightforwardness and wearability of McCartney's work.

"All you need is a pair of boots, some jeans and t-shirts and a couple of jackets, you know, you don't need all... it's just madness, they are using fur and leather, its all the clichés, it's superficial, it doesn't mean anything. It's just packaging, it should be a bit of a laugh."

Explaining how her collections manage to appeal to such a diversity of women, McCartney said it has to do with the play between the sexes.

"I think in every woman there is a part of each of those women, and I think that is very much a Stella woman. I am a totally masculine/feminine kind of personality, and the kind of clothing is a complete reflection of that, but I think most women are aren't they? If you are too girly it is not a good look and if you are too masculine it's not, you have got to have the balance and that is what I am always trying to capture in the collection, that moment," she said.

And while it rained outside, the British designer brought a touch of summer to Paris with her light and breezy collection with it summery shades and bright tones.
