Hermes' latest collection targets the chic world traveler

Ex-Lacoste designer Christophe Lemaire presents his fourth ready-to-wear collection for Hermes.

PARIS, FRANCE  - Hermes, the storied French label known for its discreet luxury, held its spring/summer 2013 women's ready-to-wear show on Sunday (September 30) during Paris Fashion Week.

The latest Hermes collection targeted the chic world traveller with its foulard motif and colourful exotic Polynesian prints. It was noticeably more eclectic than Hermes' past collections with its varied looks ranging from oversized jackets paired with tiny shorts to minimalist ample white tunics. There were also a number of Piet Mondrian-inspired colour block pieces shown.

The fabrics used also ran the gamut from lambskin to full grain leather woven in silk to washed silk twill. The colour palette was also extremely varied, incorporating shades of emerald, cobalt, celadon and earthy browns.

Keeping in line with the brand's DNA, whose mascot is an airborne messenger, mannequins showed off several models of hand luggage.

This was ex-Lacoste designer Christophe Lemaire's fourth ready-to-wear collection for Hermes, a luxury goods maker established in 1837.
