Scorsese teams up with Chanel

Academy-Award winning filmmaker Martin Scorsese goes behind the camera for new Chanel men's cologne.

CHANEL - Chanel has teamed up with famous filmmaker Martin Scorsese to launch their most recent advertising campaign for their new men's fragrance, Bleu de Chanel.

The French fragrance line gave the American director full creative control during the direction of "Bleu de Chanel", which is the name of the fragrance as well as the title of the short film.

The advertising-film runs as a sixty second commercial featuring French actor Gaspard Ulliel in the lead-role. Ulliel plays Hector, a rebellious young actor who has been catapulted into fame but refuses to conform to the lifestyle expectations imposed on him by his new found stardom.

The advertisement takes place during a press conference held by the actor but is intercut with various images of his past and the relationships he had. His memories lead up to the precise moment in which he finds himself.

Scorsese uses the Rolling Stones 1965 release entitled "She Said Yeah" as a soundtrack for the short-film.

"Bleu de Chanel" is the first major men's advertising campaign and fragrance launch for Chanel since 2004.
