TOKYO, JAPAN (OCTOBER 03, 2009) TV TOKYO - Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyma and his wife Miyuki rocked a charity fashion show in Tokyo, wowing the local audience as they strutted down the runway.
Yukio and Miyuki, who each wore a colourful jacket and skirt, sashayed down the runway with a 14-year-old girl, making sure to stop at the end to strike a pose.
Ever since her husband took office in early September, Japan's first lady has been in the global media spotlight, after she claimed to have been to Venus on a UFO.
Miyuki, 66, described the extraterrestrial experience, which she said took place some 20 years ago, in a book entitled "Very Strange Things I've Encountered."
"While my body was asleep, I think my soul rode on a triangular-shaped UFO and went to Venus," Miyuki wrote in a book published last year.
"It was a very beautiful place and it was really green."
Miyuki, also known for her culinary skills, spent six years acting in Japan and met the U.S.-educated Yukio while living in America.
Just like his wife, Yukio, 62, the rich grandson of a former prime minister, was once nicknamed "the alien" for his prominent eyes.
Yukio was voted in as premier last month following his party's crushing election victory over the long-ruling Liberal Democratic Party.
Japan's new couple waved, sang and danced with many young models rocking over 700 people in the audience during an hour-long show.
Yukio and Miyuki heard about the fashion show for disabled children the day before and decided to join in at the last minute.
