Beauties with brains showcase their talents in Tibetan Beauty Pageant

The second day of Miss Tibet Beauty Pageant 2010 witnesses a talk and talent round at Dharamsala in India's northern Himachal Pradesh state.

DHARAMSHALA, HIMACHAL PRADESH, INDIA (JUNE 05, 2010) ANI - A talk and talent round marked the second day of Miss Tibet Beauty Pageant 2010 on Saturday (June 05) at Dharamsala India's northern Himachal Pradesh state.
The event is organised at the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA).

Four pretty Tibetan eves are vying for the title of Miss Tibet 2010.

Each of the contestant spoke on a different topic like on Buddhism, environment, about the cause of Tibet and youth's participation for their freedom struggle.

"I think that all the four contestants are doing their best without any nervousness or getting scared. So we hope to do best and we'll prove that we are better than the other Tibetan girls and even later they can come forward and take part in this Miss Tibet," said Rinchen Choden, a contestant for the Miss Tibet 2010 title.

A test in performing talents followed the talk round and the participants showed their skills in singing or dancing.

Despite the contest in place for the last nine years the number of participants is still low due to the conservative nature of the community.

UB Group's Kingfisher has sponsored this year's contest as such it is officially named 'Kingfisher Miss Tibet Pageant 2010'.

The winner will receive a cash prize of rupees 1,00,000 ($2,160).
