Paris Hilton lands in India to launch her handbag line

The American model, businesswoman and socialite, Paris Hilton arrives in Mumbai to launch her line of handbags and accessories called 'Paris Hilton'.


MUMBAI, MAHARASHTRA, INDIA (SEPTEMBER 23, 2011) ANI-The American model, businesswoman and socialite, Paris Hilton early on Saturday (September 24) arrived in Mumbai to launch her line of handbags and accessories called 'Paris Hilton'.



Hilton, who is here to unveil Fall-Winter designs of her handbags, arrived in India's entertainment capital on her maiden visit from September 24-26, as a battery of photographers and cameramen eagerly awaited her arrival.


This strategic move makes India the 36th country in the world to house the glamorous Paris Hilton shops.
Hilton was seen wearing blue pantsuits, with a headband and beaded necklace.


The American socialite has cut short her trip by a day as according to her earlier schedule, she was to be in Mumbai till September 27.


During the visit, Hilton is going to don Indian fabrics designed by noted Indian celebrity designer Rocky S.
Hilton was arrested last year, as she was found guilty of cocaine possession in Las Vegas. She was found to have 0.8 grams of the drug in a purse.


She was given a one-year suspended sentence, fined $2,000 and ordered to do community service.


In 2007, Hilton had planned to come to India on her friend, designer Anand Jon's invitation, but the trip didn't work out.


The former star of reality TV show "The Simple Life" is a member of the family that founded the Hilton hotel chain, and she has parlayed her notoriety into a successful career endorsing products in fashion, fragrances and other industries.
