LONDON, ENGLAND, UNITED KINGDOM (FEBRUARY 18, 2012) (REUTERS) - Brazilian designer Daniella Issa Helayel showed a collection of bold casual prints as well as elegant evening wear at London Fashion Week on Saturday (February 18)
She began with 70s style print dresses teamed with leggings in the same fabric. Dresses were patterned, retro and often teamed with headwear - from fur to large headscarfs. One look saw a red blue and green print headscarf paired with a chunky knit short jumper and matching leggings.
As the collection moved away from patterns, elegant evening wear began to emerge. Long fitted gowns in bright red, green and blue wouldn't have looked out of place at the finest red carpet event.
British actress and former Bond girl Gemma Arteton attended. She told Reuters Television she's a long-time fan of the label.
"I just like their easiness. They were one of the first labels that supported me when I was a little sapling out of drama school and I still wear those dresses now that they sent me, because they're just classic, they really are."
The show ended with shiny, metallic mint green knee-length dresses. A futuristic finish to a show that began in the '70s.
