ROME, ITALY (JANUARY 28, 2012) (LOUIS VUITTON) -  Celebrities, including actresses Cate Blanchett and Catherine Deneuve turned out in Rome on Saturday (January 28) to add some glitz and glamour to the opening of the first Louis Vuitton Maison in Italy.

Vuitton, well known for its signature bags and luggage, firmly reaffirms its presence in Europe.
Catherine Deneuve remembered her very first Vuitton purchase:
"It's very difficult to remember because I remember that I had a Vuitton case for make-up when I was a very young actress. But it was not as popular as it is today," Deneuve said.

In 1988, Louis Vuitton marked its first step on the road to Rome, and established its first store in the city at the famous San Lorenzo in Lucina Square. Over twenty years later, "Roma Etoile" will open its doors to the public. Entirely reinterpreted by architect Peter Marino, this historical cinema will offer visitors a comprehensive product range.

Australian actress Cate Blanchett stressed the importance of craftsmanship when it comes to the movie world as well:
"It's not just the actors who make great films and the directors it's also the hair and make up people, it's the carpenters, it's the costume designers, the propmakers. Having worked with Cinecitta I know first hand the extraordinary skillbase and that's why legendary films are being made and so with a brand that obviously enshrines great craftsmanship it's of course a wonderful thing that they're doing," she said.
Blanchett added that she just recently reunited with the film crew of 'Lord of the Rings':
"I did a small bit on 'the Hobbit' which was really fabulous going back a decade later to put back on the ears and work opposite Ian McKellen."
Blanchett is about to embark on a tour of Europe - and perhaps will take the opportunity to stock up for her travels in this fashionable new store. stressed the importance of craftsmanship when it comes to the movie world as well:
