Etro jazzes up Milan Fashion Week

Pleats, tribal prints for Veronica Etro's summer collection.

MILAN, ITALY (SEPTEMBER 23, 2011) (REUTERS - Italian fashion brand Etro played new jazz for its Milan's spring/summer 2012 womenswear show in Milan (September 23).

Designer Veronica Etro deconstructed her futurist signature print into a broken collage for a modern elegance.
Drop waist or no waist dresses took centre stage for a tribal look different from the defined romantic lines seen this week so far.

Hems were below or at the knee with fringes or pleats -- a recurrent theme for next summer.
Etro worked fabrics to create burnt inky edges on pleats.

Trompe-l'oeil prints on V-neck plunge dresses gave a sexy allure to fluid forms.

Silk and satin added movement to the soft forms with strategic cuts to reveal the skin.

Etro mixed a palette of apricot, cream, peach with pop colours like orange, blue and lime green.

Accessories included clutches or cigarette box shaes with 3-D patterns or zig-zag prints.

Oversized tribal-esque earrings in metal and stones completed the look.
