Jaeger eyes emerging markets

Jaeger's chief executive, Belinda Earl, says new shops could open in North America and Russia.

Jaeger showed off its Autumn/Winter collection back at London Fashion Week in February.

Now in the shops the clothes are proving to be a hit with their customers.

Jaeger says they've seen a strong demand for their products and sales have been up year on year.

Chief Executive Belinda Earl said they're looking to expand further into emerging markets in Europe and North America.

CHIEF EXECUTIVE,JAEGER, BELINDA EARL, SAYING:

''I think we'll certainly be looking at the emerging markets and we'll certainly be looking at accessories too for aqua.''

Only last week Jaeger bought Aquascutum, one of Britain's oldest luxury brands from its Japanese owner.

The deal creates a fashion group with sales of more than 300 million pounds, around 492 U.S dollars

Earl says she hopes to turn loss making Aquascutum around.

CHIEF EXECUTIVE, JAEGER, BELINDA EARL, SAYING:

''We see greater opportunity to extend the brand into new markets and into new products so take accessories for example that's an area that we will look to grow for Aquascutum.''

Jaeger has more than 100 shops in over a dozen markets.

They're also looking to increase their online presence even further.

CHIEF EXECUTIVE,JAEGER, BELINDA EARL, SAYING:

''It is our second largest store, we plan to grow that business for Jaeger and yes we plan to have Aquascutum selling online in the not too distant future.''

The British fashion brand is celebrating its 125th anniversary and it'll be showing off its Spring/Summer collection at London Fashion Week.
