Models’ aim to trample breast cancer

Photographer Nigel Barker snaps top fashion models as they don boots to raise money to stomp out breast cancer.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK, UNITED STATES - Some of fashion's top models put their best foot forward to fight breast cancer.

The special photo shoot in New York City by famed photographer Nigel Barker, was part of a fundraiser organised by the Council of Fashion Designers of America.

Nigel Barker, photographer, saying:

"I think it's very poignant. I think that no matter if you are a woman or not, like myself, men also get breast cancer and I think that's important that we understand that and stand together as a sign of solidarity that we can stop this and we need to stop it, and if we can't stop it right now, at least be educated about it."

During the shoot, models donned limited edition Nine West boots.

The boots, which come with a pedometer, will track every step the models take during New York Fashion Week.

With each step, Nine West will donate money to the charity, Fashion Targets Breast Cancer.

Jessica White, model, saying:

"They are involving the girls. We haven't been involved like this and we take so many steps during fashion week. People don't realise the girls walk around so much from seven a.m. to one o'clock in the morning, so if we can raise money that way, it's all for a good cause."

New York Fashion Week begins on September 9.
